Perth - my home town - NYT must visit 2014

Perth, Australia

For Australian panache, go west.

Perth, the capital of western Australia, has long been feted for its beaches, laid-back vibe and Aboriginal heritage, but lately Australia’s fourth-largest city is exhibiting the signs of a trendy transformation. Regional wine lists? Check. Modish new restaurants in repurposed spaces like stables (the Stables Bar), cottages (the Old Crow) or a printing press building (the Print Hall)? Check. International celebrity chefs including Jamie Oliver, whose Italian spot Jamie’s Italian recently opened? Up-and-coming neighborhoods like Mount Lawley and Northbridge, chockablock with cafes and vintage shops? Check and check. Transformation is evident on a larger scale, too: The Riverside project is infusing the eastern side of the city with parks, shops and housing plazas, while expansion of the new Crown Perth complex includes hotels — Crown Metropol and Crown Promenade — and posh restaurants likeNobu and La Vie Champagne Lounge. And with first- and business-class lounges opening at Los Angeles International Airport this year, the national airline Qantas makes it easy to get Down Under in style.— BAZ DREISINGER

Post 1283 - that's a lot of nonsense

"You should write something every single day...." Seth Godin

Today is saturday in Perth Western Australia and the weather man says it will be 44c [ 11.2F ] by 3pm...

I am sitting at my library desk thinkinng it will be too hot to venture out when Joanne says..."I know it is hot BUT there are these cute shoes at a new shop we haven't been to, do you want to take me..."

I have learned that when Joanne asks me something, it isn't really a question... so I say, "it will be cool in the car and in the shop, so if we park close we should be right."

So, we will be off in a few minutes which leaves me just enough time to write post 1238...

Success is easy... just showing up is half the job done

Macca's Coffee this morning
Although today is only the 3rd business day of the new year, already I am achieving progress towards my goal for 2014... my 60 city World Tour of my Social Media 2014 seminar... just 5 minutes ago I processed the 15th booking for the series... now that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't started!

Most of my achievements revolve around the fact that I start early and I follow a routine:

Up and working by 4.30 am...

Walk [ about 5 kms ] from 5.45 am to 6.45 am with a stop for a coffee and a quick glance of the newspaper in the middle. [ Usually at Macca's in Morley or Fast Eddy's when they are open on Friday through Sunday... ]

And while I am walking my emails are shooting out to mail boxes across the land.

And when I return, time to shower and do my social media updating while I have my second coffee.

How does all this happen - well I decided that this is how I work, and there are no decisions to make, just a path to follow.

And you know, for someone who does nothing much, the money seems to roll in and I seem to be happy with my place in the universe.

[ and this routine is the same whether I am in Doha, Qatar, or London UK or Sydney Australia... why, because that is how it is... I have made showing up a habit and that leads the job to being half done!]

Verita Magazine WOW you certainly have grwon

I can remember getting Issue 1 of Veritas
Veritas Magazine Issue 16
..
. "a magazine that takes seriously the quest for an intelligent, compassionate and sustainable future" a couple of years ago and thinking "great idea but I think they will struggle..."

Obviously I am not a good judge because issue 16 has just arrived and WOW what a brilliantly presented magazine it has become.

Great articles on Consciousness, Humanity, Inspiration, Food Revolutions and more... the editorial content matches the new look.

Here are a couple of great quotes contained in this issue of the magazine:

Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are witness through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.

Regrets.... Mmmm that's it for 2013

Wayne Mansfield
Yes... it was a long and trying year... and I really am glad it is now 2014..

While I am sure that I have disappoined some peope, infuriated even more, have appeared to go back on my word, I wouldn't change a bit of 2013.

Every day of the last 365 I gave it my all....

According to Kekich's Credo:

Real regrets only come from not doing your best. All else is out of your control. You're  measured by results only. Trade excuses and "trying" for results, and expect half-hearted results from half-hearted efforts.

Do more than is expected of you. Life's easy when you live it the hard way... and hard if you try to live it the easy way
